My parents live down the street so I come here sometimes when I am in town. The staff is always super friendly and seem to recognize my folks. The service has always been great. We told the waitress that we were on a time crunch cause I had to catch a flight and she saw that our food came out extra speedy! The food is pretty good for breakfast, nothing outstanding though. The only downfall is that it was super hot today, I'm not sure if they had the AC on or not. Overall this is a great spot that really looks after its customers. They make you feel like a regular no matter how often you come in and they really seem to appreciate your business.

Le Peep is my neighborhood favorite! Just a five minute walk away so we come here for brunch all the time. They're open for dinner service now but we haven't had a chance to try it yet. I always seem to order the same things when I go: Lox & Bagel...any of the benedicts (crabcakes my favorite!)....& egg salad sandwich is out of this world, I'm still trying to clone the recipe at home! They had awesome frittatas and omelettes too. Service is always welcoming and the food comes out quick, even when they're slammed!

My family and I have dined here in the past. We enjoyed it years ago. Obviously, the restaurant has changed hands over the past 15 years and that's ok. The menu looks slightly updated. The restaurant itself needs new furniture. The wall decor is annoying. I'm not sure what the theme was but I felt like I was in a cafe that sponsors upcoming artists both musical and artistic. There were pictures on the wall, and I think they were for sale. Just an odd atmosphere. The service was horrible. The young lady working there was clueless. Sat us down and didn't come back for 15 minutes. Not cool. Considering were we one of two customers there. Table was gross. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. The glasses and utensils were dirty with dried up food on them. A big no-no anywhere! Food..... negative 5 stars. Whoever was back there making this food needs to be fired or properly trained. The eggs were horrible. How can anyone screw up eggs? The potatoes were not edible. Beyond disgusting. It makes me want to vomit just thinking about them. My mother asked for no cheese on her dish and she got extra cheese. Awesome. Thanks for getting the order right. Everyone there looked miserable. As another Yelper stated, this place Le sucked! Never again. I seriously wish I would have saved my time and money and made food at home.

Been here many times because they have the Benedict fight. Which are 3 eggs Benedict. One on veggies, one on a crab cake, and one traditional. I usually substitute for the crab cake for the salmon and get an extra $3.00 charged. A bit much in my opinion, but i still get it every time. Service is good! Place is nice. Parking available.

I have no idea where these 4-5 stars are coming from! Yikes! Let me detail for you my experience at Le Peep, this place Le sucked. -Watched a fly commit suicide in the world's blandest breakfast potatoes -$10 for a tasteless frittata, goat cheese and spinach just strewn across a rubbery egg base -One of the bus boys, instead of picking up and disposing of a plastic creamer cup, kicked it like a soccer ball out of his path straight under a table...GOAL! -The nooks and crannies of my English muffin were coated in an unidentifiable oily substance (certainly wasn't butter) that resembled artery plaque -As the sun shown across the tables, one could see the sticky residue of patrons passed -Mangled pieces of mystery meat under the table and a deceased broccoli floret adjacent to the tumbleweed of soiled napkins lay neglected on the carpet -A little off note but the person who sharpened the colored pencils failed miserably. You had one job. This place reminded me of a Petri dish. For genuine concern of my health, I'll never be returning.

People who have lived in or near Chicago often visit Mount Prospect to ski during the winter and scale the mountain in the spring and summer. Many young adolescents consider climbing to the peak of Mount Prospect to be a rite of passage like a confirmation, quinceanera, bar mitzvah, etc. My wife wanted to ski down Mt Prospect, so we decided to have a nice lunch afterwards at Le Peep. That's because I received a two-fer email from them and we are bargain hunters. LePeep is a nice breakfast/brunch place patronized by many local yokels and others who know of this hidden treasure. We have fond memories of bringing our young daughters to brunch there and introducing themselves to the delight of eating out. At a table next to us, a couple brought their young daughter who behaved like a little lady eating her French toast. We complimented the little family next to us. (When our older daughter went to a restaurant, and service was slow, she started screaming and crying to protest slow service - and that was when she was 24.) I had a Chicken Florentine entrée and my wife had a chicken sandwich. No fowl comments, please. She was very satisfied with her meal, and really liked the sweet potato fries that accompanied the entrée. My meal was very satisfactory, and it was actually healthier than most breakfast courses. Service, as always, was exceptional. Our waitress checked on us every few minutes and was attentive filling our beverages when they were getting low. There was one tragic failing to our visit - and it was not their fault whatsoever. When we were paying the check, they refused to honor the two-fer they emailed me: it had expired the day before. As a nationally recognized expert on cheapskate technology, I had never forgotten to check expiration dates, and here I failed. I feaedr that I was on my way to dementia. They did take pity on me and offered us a 10% old geezer discount, which took a little of the edge of the pain and embarrassment I experienced. I wonder how many out-of-town rubes believe that Mt Prospect is a mountain? It is NOT a mountain; it is a suburb.

Good food! Great eggs Benedict! Terrible service, I keep going hoping the management has changed.

I took my mother here for a late lunch and the restaurant had only a few tables of customers at that time so, you would think they would have time to clean up the place a bit but, there were large pieces of food under the tables, the carpet was old and dirty, the food was so so, etc.. Our waitress was lovely, though. Couldn't ask for someone more sweet and accommodating! So. Here's the REAL problem.... When I was finished and went to the register to pay, the manager/owner? Was on the phone talking loudly, didn't acknowledge me at all, took my ticket, put out his hand for my payment and done! Not a thank you, not a smile, just complete rudeness. Who raised this guy?!?! NEVER going back. Your loss, Mr. Peep.

My husband and I discovered this place by accident after previously falling in love with the Indianapolis Le Peep! Beginning a weekend morning at the Mt. Prospect Le Peep's and then strolling to the library just down the street became our routine. We are BREAKFAST LOVERS. We've tried the pancakes, crepes, waffles, gooey buns, eggs, bacon, biscuits n' gravy, tea, coffee, smoothies - you name it! The service has always been efficient and friendly, even when the place gets bustling. The food is always hot, attractive, and smells amazing! Absolute Favorites: 1) Le Petite French Toast 2) Swedish Pancakes with Lingonberries & Lingonberry Butter 3) Desperado Omelette 4) Biscuits n' Gravy 5) Steamed Earl Grey (Like a cup of tea and a foamy cappuccino in one!) Getting hungry just typing this... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Short and sweet review. Food was good. Service was friendly. The oven roasted tomatoes did taste a bit old. They had a distinct smell. Almost fermenting like. The sweet potato fries were ok. Nothing out of this world. I would come back though. I see potential in this little spot. However, if it were next to an egg harbor, it would be game over for peeps.

False advertising, new dinner menu/ some draft beer/ from $5 I told my husband there has to be a catch, so asked the waiter. First she sounded clueless, than she came back and said oh yah we have those specials, but I can't find the menu, it's written up front and I will read, two items she mentions were Ok, we asked 5 times if sides were extra she said, that's special price. Ofcourse the bill was full price menu, even manager told us, that $5 is for beer only. We came out and read again...very misleading just to get custmers in the door. Any other restaurant would have compensated to keep business. We didn't feel good not tipping, so walked out smiling at ourselves. Food very greasy. Poor ambience for such a great location. Too bad, we could have been good customer

Hmm, I'm always amazed when I discover a place we've frequented over the years that I somehow forgot to review. Le Peep - this is long overdue! Great breakfast & lunch spot with a lot of variety on the menu - something for everyone and enough things to drool over that you'll want to come back multiple times in a short span of time. Everything we've tried here has been quite good and the service quick & friendly. Cute decor & clean restrooms, too. If you end up parking in the back, there is a back entrance as well. And, when the weather is nicer, they do have some outdoor seating.

I was in the area and had sometime before my meeting started so I decided to grab a bite here. I waited about 10 minutes, it was Sunday at 1000am so the brunch crowd was starting to show up. The place was pretty well packed when I arrived. I opted for the eggs Benedict platter. My server was very attentive and was juggling quite a few busy tables. Coffee was good and food came out pretty quick. The platter had three eggs Benedict each with a different theme. The vegetable one was good as was the original, the seafood Benedict smelled strange and when I took a bite it was horrible. I'm pretty sure there seafood went sour. I let my waiter know but since I was pretty full I let him no I did not want a replacement. They gave me a discount since the food was bad. This is a decent place not one I would run back too. Every time I drive by it is extremely busy so be prepared to wait. Service is good, food isn't amazing but was tasty for the parts that were not spoiled.

I am so bummed out! A few years ago, I ate breakfast here quite often. My route has changed and I haven't been there in almost two years. I saw their sign outside advertising that they were now opened for dinner, so I went with a friend tonight. We got there around 4:30, place was empty, all the waitresses and cashier/host were talking at a table in the corner. We waited a bit, finally walked over and asked them where to sit. The waitress brought over the menus and the carafe of water, which I'm fairly sure was the same plastic carafe from years ago, cloudy, chipped and with something that looked like dead lemon slices stuck on the bottom inside, if there is such a thing as dead lemons! The water tasted awful, can't even describe it. After 15 minutes passed, I had to walk over to the "employee table" and ask if someone could take our order. Now the good news is that our food was great. I had a pulled pork/slaw sandwich and my friend had a scrambled eggs dish, and both were fresh and delicious. So maybe I would go back, but they badly need to update their serving pieces and the decor. And the service needs to improve.

La peep has an extensive menu of all things breakfast. I got their vegetarian eggs benedict and they were good but nothing spectacular. The coffee was fresh and they gave you your own carafe. I ended up with with food poisoning later that afternoon from the eggs benedict and spent the evening vomiting up spinach and vegetables. Not good.

If you want a quality tasty breakfast, come to Le Peep. Not only will you not have to wait an eternity for a table, you also won't have to spend an arm and a leg. Who loves Waffles? Who also wants eggs and bacon with his waffle? Who doesn't want to order them all separately? Thisguy! At Le peep, I don't have to. Waffle Combo! Eggs, meat, waffle and hash browns (or fruit). Why don't more places do a waffle combo? Plus good service.

Le Peep's is now serving dinner Tuesday through Saturday. We stopped in on a Friday night because I wanted to try the all-you-can -eat fish. It was fabulous! The fish was really hot and crunchy with plenty of fish and the side of fries were light and super crispy. Cole slaw is wonderful, too. There were numerous items on the dinner menu that I would be happy to try in the future and we scanned the other plates of entrees as they went by and everything looked delicious. We would definitely recommend going to Le Peep's for dinner!

I love Le Peep in Park Ridge, and thought I would try the Mount Prospect location, but I wanted to make sure they had Chicken Fried Steak too, so I decided to call first to check. I called and was told after she went to confirm that they do indeed have Chicken Fried Steak. When we arrived, we were greeted by a young happy guy but an inexperienced host; not a big deal cause it was not extremely busy and young adults need to start somewhere. When our server, Jackie, came to take our order, I asked for Chicken Fried Steak and was told they do NOT serve it, but was informed by her that they do have Chicken Fried Pork Tenderloin instead. I appreciate the alternative BUT that's not the point. Why was I told on the phone that they do have the steak? And why was the server non-empathetic or apologetic? Yes, I am proud of her that she has been working here for 12 years and still looking very lovely, but what happened to showing some remorse for the guest when another team member screwed up? Let's see how it goes once the food is served as I am writing this review while waiting for it to come out... So far, maybe a 2-star review. Okay, when the food came out, everything took an up swing. Jackie explained that the girl asked the cook who only heard the Chicken Fried portion of the question and nodded his head yes. Well, with the explanation in a remorseful tone, how could I stay upset. Although I wasn't too fond of the Chicken Fried Pork Tenderloin, I was pleasantly happy with the service and managed to still enjoy myself. Food: 3-stars Service: 4-stars Overall: 3.5-stars and rounding up for that lovely smile of Jackie's ;D

I love this place, and it pains me to give them only four stars. This place is FIVE STAR on the weekdays. They have a great menu, fantastic specials, an accommodating kitchen, gluten free selections including waffles and pancakes and bread, cheerful efficient friendly servers, great views of the Metra trains, lots of room for your kids. Our special waitress Maira always takes the best care of us. The franchise owner never neglects to remember us and greet us personally. There is outdoor seating, not that scenic, with either a street/train or parking lot view. But they have it. For us, this is our weekday small town diner in the big city. However, all the above-mentioned greatness can become too much of a good thing on Saturday and Sunday. This quality has led to a popularity that at times leads to the reviews you can see elsewhere on Yelp--a full to capacity dining room, servers struggling to maintain an acceptable level of service, a kitchen that gets behind and inaccurate. I have dined here solo on the weekend many times, and have watched the dramatic difference from, say, Wednesday. And I can tell you, I still come back because they really do have the BEST food in the area. If you have ever tried Le Peep and had less than a four or five star experience, I encourage you to give them a chance again. Just remember if you show up with six on a Sunday at 9:30am, it will be one experience, and a very different one at 8am Thursday. I'll be back next week...

My friend and I were out in mount prospect running errands and needed a good place to get breakfast. We stumbled upon le peep. It looked cute so we walked in. The staff was friendly and our waiter was sweet. However, the food was another story. My friend ordered the "healthy scrambler." It came in a little skillet that was swimming in some gross liquid. We weren't sure if it was butter or what. Pretty nasty. I ordered the turkey club panini with waffle fries. The waffle fries were crispy but extremely bland and tasted freezer burned. The sandwich was hardly toasted. The turkey looked and tasted like it came out of a package. There was more mayo smothered on the sandwich than all the ingredients combined. I couldn't eat it. So basically I ate freezer burned fries for lunch. How appetizing. Needless to say, I won't be back anytime soon.

I wanted to really like this place but I was disappointed by the lackluster breakfast. I recently moved to the area and have been trying new places. I love breakfast so I was really excited to try this place out. The service itself is great, everyone is welcoming and the environment is comforting. Definitely a place I could see myself going to often. My biggest complaint is the food. It lacks in flavor and for breakfast that's tough to mess up. I think if they revamped their menu or cool this place would be a gem!

The Breakfast Specials change frequently at this Great Breakfast and Lunch place, but the everyday menu is always consistently amazing! I get the North Shore, and my bride trades off between a skillet and Salmon Benedict! Did I mention how the food is always wonderfully prepared? We always try to get Monica as our server, she is always in a good mood which in turn helps me get my day off to a good start. Thanks LePeep!

I went to the Le Peep in Park Ridge for decades and fell in love with some of the Le Peep specialty menu items and the incredible French toast. When that location took a downward spiral a few years ago, the Mount Prospect location was waiting as an even better replacement. This Le Peep has a slightly different menu from other Le Peep locations, but that's a good thing! They have a few sandwiches and wraps that you won't find at other locations, along with many of the staple Le Peep dishes. Regardless of what you order, the ingredients are much fresher and more expertly put together than at either the Park Ridge or Evanston locations. Service is good and the owner seems to really care about giving you a quality experience. Best Le Peep in the area.

I used to frequent this place a lot. But the service is meh. Every meal you want to substitute items for is "extra." Egg harbor and Walker Brothers do not do that. I only came here again because we bought that Prospect High School football card and it has a coupon. The pancakes aren't the best anyway. But tolerable when masked with the fake syrup. Kids meals are cheap but very small for kids older than 5. Also the iced coffee is a carafe of their hot coffee with a glass of ice. Huh? We asked for the bacon extra crispy and it didn't come out that way. Asked for extra well done corned beef hash. Nope. It's the simple things really. Not impressed. I would buy a cocktail to ease the pain but it's the morning and I have to drive with kids. I will not be returning to this place.

What a cute breakfast place. The food is so good and the service is outstanding. I like coming here Sunday mornings and going to the farmers market directly across the street. They have weekend specials like blueberry lemon pancakes and other delicious things. They are open for breakfast and lunch. Lunch food delicious as well. They also have an outdoor patio.....

Awesome Chipotle body Mary's for breakfast and specialty drinks. Love the eggs Benedict and several skillets. Just opened for dinner and great options, great service. Can be long wait times.

Place is busy - a good sign - service was attentive and polite - which helps when a place is a place to be. We enjoyed a plate of Swedish pancakes adorned with lingonberries and a side of fluffy eggs - our other choice was a tasty omelette filled with Swiss cheese, jalapeños and bacon - good for me, maybe not my cardiologist - over all a nice place to stop in and enjoy a quiet Sunday meal.

I am always in search of a great breakfast. Day after St. Paddy's Day, must have had plenty of corned beef left since the specials were in the form of a reuben and benedict. I decided to pass on these when I spotted a Spanish omelet. Not many places offer it. It tasted great, my problem is their folding method is so half-assed the cheese doesn't end up in the middle, so I just ended up eating the top half with any stuff on it. The home fries were little squares, and were ok. I picked a few. They have a carafe of lemon water on every table, a nice touch. They offer fresh squeezed juices. Why this rates a 4 is the server, Jake. First, I love when young servers just go out of their way to please you. But he had common sense, which many don't , no matter what age. Example, he had just a few tables on one side, I was closest to the back. If he was taking care of another table, he always turned around to check if I needed anything. This may not seem like much, but I've seen so many just take care of one table, then walk off, even when you're right next to them. This guy got over tipped that day. I like this particular corner, maybe it's the Oberweis attached.

I hadn't been here in quite some time. Seems this, like other establishments, needed to cut back to get by. Potatoes werent as plentiful- bacon was lesser quality. I rate the french toast and the mocha five stars. Other than that, exactly as three-stars states, a-ok. as the food is pricier than most of your other spots. The mocha was worth the price I paid, the food, not. I will say, my dining companion loved that when she ordered more coke, it came in a carafe. If I get a coupon, I may go back. Otherwise, if-y

Love going here for breakfast with my girlfriend or even my family. My favorite items are the cinnamon roll french toast and the steak and eggs. The French toast is out of this world with the frosting topping. The steak and eggs surprised me the first time I had them. Steak is excellent and eggs are good as expected. My favorite breakfast place in the area!

We stopped at Le Peep for lunch. Our server was great, very personable and quick with our orders. The food itself tasted great. My fiance got the lumberjack combo and I had the chicken basil quesadilla (I think thats what it was called). Over all we had a good time. Only thing that we didn't like was the hostess, she was always on her phone and didn't communicate much with the guests.

I organize a local gathering nearby, so I'm bringing large parties (15-20 people) to this LePeep for breakfast three times a year. They are always very accommodating, serve us with care and respect, and deal with all of us asking for separate checks! On top of all this, the food is always great; I usually get a skillet with basted eggs, and I'm always satisfied. Sometimes I even come back later in the day for lunch!

We had the world's shortest meal here because we were running late but knew the train wouldn't. (It's across the street from the Metra stop.) The staff were all very friendly and the waiter totally understood our time crunch. I had a chicken salad sandwich that was delicious and very moist. I'd definitely stop here again someday when I can take time and taste my food. Also there is a shared parking lot behind the building.

I have been to this location at least 10 times in the past 2-3 years. However, after my last two visits, I will not return again. I was at this location on 1/1/15 with my children. The server was pleasant, the food prompt. However, my children both ordered mac and cheese. My son's dish was sour. When the waitress returned for the check-in after the food had been served, I hadn't yet asked my son about his meal. A minute or two later, he told me it didn't taste right. I tasted it and it tasted like it was made with sour cream or sour milk or perhaps it soured. My daughter ordered the same meal. She said hers tasted fine and she ate it. When the waitress came back around about 10 minutes later (and after my son ate half of my meal) I told her about it and asked her just to bring out a small plate of potatoes. She did this and told her to let me know if he wanted more. He ate them all. She gave me the bill and the full price for the sour meal was still on it. I took the bill up front to pay, as is customary here, and when the lady with the long brown pony tail asked how things where, I told her. She asked if the waitress brought anything else, I indicated a small plate of potatoes (about the size of a coffee cup saucer) and she told me we owed the full amount. I balked but was standing there with my two children. I repeated the amount in disbelief and she confirmed it. I paid and, incidentally, left the appropriate tip (the server was ok, the one dish was not) and left. I will not be returning to this location. I don't think I should have to beg to be treated with common courtesy. I would have paid for the equivalent of a side of potatoes but it is insane that I was charged for the children's mac and cheese 5.99! Especially, since this is the second time we had a similar situation occur. Approximately six months earlier, and coincidentally the most recent time we were at Le Peep, I was at this location with just my daughter. She decided to try a special that involved a filled crepe. She ordered it and claimed after a bite she didn't like it and ate the fruit on the side. I tried it and while the crepe was fine something didn't seem right. I realized it was missing the filling. Again, after having to flag down the waiter and basically finishing our meal since my daughter ate half my meal, I told the server. We chose not to get anything else and to leave. Same routine: took the bill up, asked how were things, reported the crepe problem and was asked to pay the full bill. This time, I pushed hard for it to be removed but this same lady with the long brown hair argued with me about it. I believe she did finally remove it. Poor, poor customer service by this organization. I suspect she is a manager. I don't think a customer should have to make a scene to get the charge for a spoiled food item removed off of a bill. I will not be returning. I encourage you to go elsewhere. They don't care about the customer here.

My husband and I had the pleasure of bringing our Mom and her caretaker to LePeep for lunch today. Oh my; what a find! Everything about the restaurant is wonderful! It is exceptionally clean and comfortable, the servers and owner Mike are all so friendly and customer driven and the food is fresh and fabulous! This restaurant owner really 'gets it' and it's so refreshing to eat in a restaurant where the total experience is 5 star. Can't wait to go back and I'm telling everyone I know about this gem. Thank you LePeep for an awesome experience!

Perfect neighborhood breakfast restaurant that caters to quick meals that are yummy and mostly healthy. We love this place. The service lately has been a little hit or miss, but there are some great people who work here. I especially love the ricotta crepes and chicken basil quesedillas. They are efficient and make for an easy, quick visit.

I met a few friends for breakfast here and it was quite nice. The carrot orange juice is delicious and I thought they had good coffee. I ordered the Swedish pancakes and they were quite good. Their pancakes looked good and I'll probably try those next time. The staff was friendly and while the place looked cozy and cute, they still had a decent amount of seating as well. There is a parking lot in the back but I managed to find close street parking. I'll definitely be bringing the family to this place and see how the kids and spouse like it. Our favorite breakfast place closed not too long ago and I was happy I found this place. Funny, that I've lived in the area nearly my whole life but never tried LePeep.

A charming little brunch restaurant that is creative and delicious. I heard about this place from our neighbors who get to go there quite frequently. We were excited to go here before we came. I ordered an eggs Benedict with smoked salmon instead of the crab cakes and it was delicious! We also got an artichoke sandwich and a turkey sandwich. We also loved that as well. Jake was our server and he was checking up on us quite frequently so service was good. Drinks: the beermosa was fruity and delicious and the strawberry orange juice is homemade. Very great stuff!

Met a friend here for breakfast. Arrived a little early and the waitress was quite attentive. Extensive menu and great breakfast staples. Substituted the fresh fruit for the potatoes, which was quite good considering the season. The server also didn't seem to mind when we hung out for a bit after we were finished eating. They have a great gluten-free menu. I'll definitely be back. Quick easy place for breakfast and right next to the train station. Great parking in the back. Also handicapped accessible.

Went to Le Peep mid morning on Sunday, Aug. 10. Place was packed but we were seated immediately. My chair faced the entrance to the kitchen where I could see the unsanitary practice of servers putting bread into toaster and buttering same as it came out, never washing their hands. I ordered fried eggs, biscuits w/ gravy & American fries. Potatoes were barely luke warm so I caught the server & asked to give me a heated serving. She took my plate back & returned with warm enough potatoes, but not hot. Tasted the biscuits and they were barely luke warm. At this point I was ready to forego breakfast. I put my plate at the edge of my table and tried to catch server's attention, to no avail. Another server saw my plate and alerted my server. I told her I couldn't eat the food as it was barely luke warm. She asked if I wanted something else and I declined. She took my plate and came back saying they were going to make up a fresh plate. OK, the potatoes were pretty warm as were the eggs, but the biscuits were barely luke warm but covered with heated gravy. How hard is it to heat a biscuit? This is a breakfast restaurant and one could expect hot servings. The sanitation faux pas is something I CANNOT get over and therefore will never return to Le Peep.

Go to LePeep in Park Ridge. I'll explain. LePeep is not a franchise, like, say McDonald's where the menu is always the same wherever you go. LePeep instead licenses the name and menu, but owners can pay for the name and use their own menu. Most LePeep's use the regular menu. This one and the one this company owns in Chicago DO NOT. I've been to the LePeep in Park Ridge and the LePeep in Champaign, IL and they stick to the main corporate menu ( lepeep.com/menu.php )This LePeep uses their own menu and the food is just meh in comparison. Even the potatoes were different and awful. Pancakes were generic. A party of five just left angry and confused and wishing we'd just driven slightly further to the Park Ridge location. You might enjoy this location's food, but don't think you've even had a glimpse at what real LePeep recipes taste like. Go to Park Ridge, get real LePeep that actually gives Egg Harbor a run for it's money.

We went in on a Saturday for a late breakfast. The restaurant was pretty packed, but we were seated immediately. The decor is cute and cozy and it was nice to sit right next to the window while the rain poured outside. The ambiance was okay, overall, but it was way too cold. I heard other guests complaining about this as well. The service was pretty quick and we received out food maybe 5 minutes after placing an order. I had the crepe with spinach/broccoli/mushroom and hollandaise sauce. I felt that the crepe was maybe a little bit too mushy inside. The breakfast potatoes were good and my order came with a warm breadstick and butter. While the breakfast menu is priced reasonably, I felt that the drinks were way overpriced. That's why I didn't order any. I thought it was kind of odd that you had to pay your bill at the front instead of with the server, but okay. The cashier had no customer service skills, though. Overall, the dining experience was pleasant. We were in and out in about 30 minutes.

Yo, peep this: Le Peep is TOPS when it comes to brunch in the burbs! Brunch can be a killer for anyone's diet plan. Woah waffles! Bazam bacon! Ping pancakes! It's a veritable playground of fatty landmines and you can fall off the wagon easily and most restaurants don't give you much selection on the healthy front. That's rough for a gal like me who loves brunching but also loves the feeling of poundage coming off my bootie. Enter Le Peep. Sure, you can go hog wild with their combo plates that serve up Belgian waffles, two eggs, bacon or sausage AND breakfast potatoes, Swedish pancakes, skillets with eggs, cheese, bacon and veggies, etc., but you can also peruse an entire menu section with healthy fare like egg white omelets filled with all kinds of yummy, healthy things and served with a whole wheat English muffin and fruit instead of heavier sides like potatoes and bacon. I ordered the light yet sublimely delicious North Shore Omelet which was egg whites, spinach, mushrooms and low fat cheese served with salsa, a side of fresh fruit and a wheat English muffin. I loved it. The omelet was hearty, yet portion controlled (read: not a monster taking up the entire plate) and the veggies were super fresh and tasty. My fruit had a nice mix of strawberries, melon and bananas (three cheers for something other than just honeydew and an orange slice) and my English muffin was small and crunchy. Yes, small is a good thing, carb avoiders. Service was top notch. Our waiter was prompt with the hot water refills for my tea, regular ice water top offs and he brought us a carafe of piping hot coffee to keep our mugs full. The food was delivered on the swift. I mean, really, there was no room for complaint. I'll be back for sure next time I'm out and about in the burbs.

I have a special place in my heart for Peeps. It is a Mount Prospect staple and treasure. After a rough night, Peeps will set you right. Everything is awesome, especially the blueberry pancakes.

Be sure to go early in the morning or be prepared to wait. Wait was worth it and we went late morning - just after 11.

Le Peep was Le Disappointing. I ordered the breakfast sandwich. The eggs were cooked in the microwave. The bacon was so "crunchy" it could break your filling and it was served radioactive hot. The potatoes that were served with it were a little scary looking. This isn't like the one we went to in D.C.

A great place for breakfast, lunch or brunch. Only been there once, but I would love to go back. Everything is fresh and tasty, and they have a nice wide selection on their menu, including more healthy options that don't taste like it. It is a bit close quarters, but not uncomfortably so. It's nicely decorated and the service was good, with lots of refills on my coffee and the husband's water. Plus, it's right in downtown Mt. Prospect, so you can wander around and see the other cute shops and in summer on Sundays, farmers market!

Oh Le Peep...how I wanted to like you...but I have to be honest...I did not like it at all... Maybe it is this location specifically but I was expecting something like Egg Harbor Cafe. It looked like Egg Harbor, felt like Egg Harbor, but tasted like Denny's. The waiting staff was unattentive and food was not good. It was not bad, but definitely not good. I had the typical breakfast foods, eggs, sausage, and pancakes. It was greasy and did not taste fresh. I just won't go again...

i've been back here several times since my last review, and i must say i don't think i've been disappointed since then. so, no chicken salad for me, but everything else i've gotten has been delicious. i love the brocolli cheese soup and the cafe cobb salad, and i've been wanting to try the salmon salad. a lot of the sandwiches have avocado, which makes me happy. i've also hosted a couple of work-related lunches here that were super smooth. the service was friendly and fast, everyone's order was correct, and everyone enjoyed their meals.

This is my family's new "go to" place for breakfast! We LOVE the homemade strawberry orange juice. There is nothing fresher or tastier. We have had a great breakfast every time we go. Eggs Benedict are great, Belgian Waffle is so fluffy and tasty, I don't even put butter on it... just some pecans and a bit of syrup. Kids have had pancakes, eggs, french toast and have finished every last bite. Great addition to Mt. Prospect!

I like this place for lunch... they offer healthy options as side dishes and have several options that are low cal substitues, etc. The quality of food is fresh and is usually very tasty! Price is reasonable for sit down, dine-in atmosphere. Everyone is always friendly.

I have been to Le Peep several times - however visiting the one in west loop. I was hopeful the suburb location would be better - but no such luck. Food is average or below. Signature potatoes had no flavor. My omelet was over-cooked. Toast had way too much butter on it. Coffee was awful - diluted and tasted old.

Quick lunch here. The burger was juicy and not bad. The waffle fries were super crispy. All in all okay. Quick, super-friendly service. More stars if the A/C or vent system in the middle of the dining room wasn't super loud. What's up with that. Looked up and the vents were super dusty, too. Which may explain why it felt stuffy in there to me. Someone can check into that. The noise dominated an otherwise good lunch.

well at least nothing was burnt. very pretty decor. the place attempts to be a shnazzy breakfast spot, but other than great interior, that's about where it all ends. The food is okay at best. I had chicken crepes with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and broccoli. I love crepes. the texture was on point, but the inside was a soggy mess. The tomatoes maybe should have been placed on top. I figure: hey if it's dry, that's what the hollandaise sauce is for, right? This crepe was sized for 4 people. Which is okay if you haven't eaten in a day or two. Otherwise, way too much. Potatoes on the side were pretty bland. Which is too bad, since they fool you with the pretty slices and seasoning. coffee was bitter like butt. real coffee, i'm sure, but man. I dont favor my coffee tasting like cough syrup. Service was a disaster. Our waiter went AWOL constantly. He was pretty random, hard to find, and it was pretty obvious he had too much on his plate. We'd ask for boxes to go. Then we'd see him seat new diners, take another tables order, clear another table, and THEN get our boxes. Kinna awkward, no? Oh yeah. And all the mean time, walking back and forth across our table with no acknowledgment. Totally hyped up. Couldn't deliver.

I had an Omni omelet. I asked for no mushrooms but they gave me one with mushrooms. I told the server and he took it back, apologized, and took $5 off the bill, which was nice especially considering I wasn't really bothered by it, nor did I make a it a big deal. The omelet was very good. I'd get it next time. Their signature potatoes they serve are not too good, in my opinion. They are bland and I'd rather have some hash browns. The orange juice was good too. All in all, the service was friendly and the food was very good. It is a little on the expensive side, though (it would have been ~$30 for two dishes and two orange juices, tax and tip included, if it weren't for the -$5 and -$8 coupon). I hear they have some nice coupons and deals though. I'll be back. By the way, I found out that they deliver.. which is a first time for me with a breakfast/brunch place. Maybe one day I'll give delivery a shot, but something about getting breakfast delivered seems wrong..

We've talked about going to breakfast here for about 2 years and finally did this am. Made it in before the Sunday am rush and were sat at a table on the other side of a half wall next to the hostess stand. They sure have crammed the tables in there because you can barely walk between them and there was a constant traffic jam right next to ours. Even worse was the fact that the main phone sits right on that half wall next to the hostess stand aka in my ear! Not something I consider to be part of a nice breakfast. The staff is the typical mix of high school and college students. The high schoolers need to be taught that yelling at each other across the restaurant isn't proper or good for business. Our waiter spoke very softly and could barely be understood over the hustle and bustle of the venue. Not to mention that but he couldn't hear us either and ended up getting my husbands order wrong and trying to charge us for an entire extra meal because of how he "translated" the order. Thank goodness that the manager was understanding and removed the additional charge. Now on to the food. My husband ordered Swedish pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese and hash browns (although I believe they call them brunch potatoes). He enjoyed his food although the eggs were lacking the cheese that he ordered. My friend ordered the desperado skillet and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast, the taste was good but the custard batter that they dipped it in made for a very soggy center. I'd be willing to possibly try eating at Le Peep again but if I do I'll be visiting the Park Ridge location.

For a place that specializes in breakfast meal, they sure do make one hell of a burger. Their meat patties are very well sized and very juicy. I orders mine burger with cheddar cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce. It was incredible! The cheese was blanked over the bacon which trapped it on the burger. The BBQ was wonderful. I'm pretty certain it's home made. Their lemonade was fantastic. That too is home made. All in all it was a pliant surprise. I'll definitely make a return trip to Le Peep... perhaps for breakfast.

I agree with others that Le Peep is "solid" but these days are you going to spend money on breakfast for something that's just pretty good or go somewhere that's above and beyond? I much prefer the atmosphere and food at Egg Harbor or Walker Brothers. The food was good, prices were a bit high in my mind for the quality of the food. However, if you have a Mt. prospect library card you get one entree free with the purchase of another. Saved us $8 and made it very affordable then! Service was prompt but the guy seemed a bit scatter brained. And the atmosphere was more akin to a chain restaurant like Denny's than what you get elsewhere.

The perfect time to dine at Le Peep is for a late breakfast. It's got kind of an elegant feel and if feeling elegant excuses you from doing silly things like dieting then enjoy an 8oz cinnamon roll with a luscious creamy glaze....::drools:: My reviews have gotten fatter and fatter lately... :) And if you thought THIS review couldn't get any more indulgent I have to tell you to try the Gooey Buns which are english muffins with brown sugar, cinnamon and almonds and CREAM CHEESE! How can you eat something like that slowly? That's something you have one bite of and turn into a Gooey Buns maniac! If that's not your style, their french toast and pancakes are SO GOOD. And if you'd like to try something dangerous sounding, have the Salmon Benedict...They have some mexican breakfast-y dishes and omelets (haven't tried any of those though) and even some lunch items if you're going a little later in the day. I think everyone should have a little Le Peep, at least once in their life.

We always try to stay true and frequent all our Local establishments first. We own our Family Business right here in Mt.P . We have been to Le Peep several times and it just has gotten worse and worse . Let me start by saying the Manny's corn beef sandwich as they promise on St.Patty's Day is so bad I told the waitress this is false advertising I know my Mannys and this was just gross took it back and asked do I want something else I said NO THANKS!.Went there last weekend after my Daughters softball game for a special treat and it was just gross. I ordered the Eggs benny like I usally do when Im starving and this was bad bad The waitress took it back 15 minutes later I recieved a new one that was even worse then the first one. The waitress asked if we wanted to talk to the manager we said sure , He couldnt even bring himselfe to the table just had the girl take it off the bill. One more thing for the price you pay there should be more then a baby handful of potatoes and or gravy Well long story short will NEVER come back here again

My husband and I love eating at LePeeps. Not only is their breakfast food great, their coffee bar is an added bonus! The place is usually packed on weekends but we've never waited for a table. They do try to keep you moving. It's not a place to linger and read the newspaper for two hours. Just a place to grab some delicious breakfast food.

Solid place for breakfast or brunch in downtown Mount Prospect. - Great tasting freshly squeezed juices (+) - if you order soda or coffee you get a pitcher or pot on the table so you don't go thirsty during your meal waiting for a refill (+) - Serves Intelligentsia coffee (+), however the coffee is quite diluted and sometimes served lukewarm (-) - the kitchen is having a hard time keeping up during busy times so don't go starving or you'll be eating your napkin while waiting for your food (-) - breakfast dishes are offered with a choice of potatoe, fresh fruits or tomatoes which is a nice plus if you are watching what you eat (+) On this occasion we ordered the mediterranean omelet: the potatoes were really good (+) but the chicken in the omelet was way too dry (-). Also ordered the Northshore omelet off the light menu: nice egg whites based omelet with spinach and mushrooms and reduced fat cheese (+), however came with salsa staight out of a jar as opposed to the fresh kind (-). Overall, a good place but some details would need improvement for a more enjoyable experience.

Great place and one of my favorites! Staff is great and friendly. Food is cooked promptly and served quite quickly. Tends to get really crowded on Saturdays & Especially Sundays for those that go to church and then come and eat. Prices a bit pricey but the food is cooked well. Only thing is when I order the same dish as I always do, sometimes I get a different Ham and sometimes get slightly less then other times. Just the consistency is a little off. But overall I love this place and I always get my little stamp card punched for future visits.

Look for coupons in the Entertainment book as well as neighborhood coupon packs! I love Le Peep! The food is good and fresh and simply prepared wonderful ingredients. This is not gourmet fancy schmancy stuff. I am talking about a good breakfast meal. They are open Breakfast and Lunch hrs only. The parking in the lot behind this string of stores on NW Hwy has the 2 hr limit and you will get ticketed! You can park on the street on NW Hwy. or around the corner by Caribou as well if you think you will be longer. The breakfast potatoes are wonderful hunks of red parslied potatoes browned a bit. The french toast is really good. The eggs are all fresh and service is wonderful with a pot of coffee given to you on your table and a carafe of lemoned water waiting for you. You leave there full and feeling good. Service has been excellent and friendly every time!!!!!

Another good breakfast brunch spot you can count on to satisfy your Sunday morning hunger. The simple yet contemporary decor and semi-gourmet menu marks this spot an inviting place to bring your friends and family. Plus the prices are really reasonable, expect to pay about $10 a person.

I liked it here. I had the wanderer skillet which was great. It had potatoes, bacon, tomato, onion and Monterey Jack cheese with eggs. I chose this one because I like eggs with onion and tomato. I liked the potatoes - they weren't too greasy and had nice flavor. I do wish there was a bit more bacon but I liked it just the way it was. The place was nice and clean and the service was good. The price was normal for breakfast places but I think it's a bit expensive. They do have coupons though so I will be coming back with my coupons.

EXCELLENT Breakfast Destination. I am a breakfast lover, could eat it 3 meals a day. I love LePeep's menu because it is more than the basic pancakes, eggs, omlettes, etc. We can do most of that at home. They have so many imaginative combos. Like a good breakfast restaurant when you order coffee they leave a carafe at your table so you can refill at your leisure. The best is Sundays in the Summer the Farmer's Market is kitty-corner - so you get your fresh market, then mosey over to LePeep. Love it.

I've never experienced customer service this bad! I was really shocked. My girlfriends and I arrived at the Mt. Prospect Le Peep on Sunday morning. There were plenty of open seating inside and outside. The outside seating had two tables with no umbrellas that were under the blaring sun and nobody wanted to sit there. When we walked up a couple had their bill and was ready to pay. We saw the sign that said "FOR OUTDOOR SEATING, PLEASE SEE THE HOSTESS INSIDE". We followed their directions, told the hostess and she confirmed that couple was leaving and we would be next. We waited for about 7 minutes and we saw the young girl talking with a tall, man with glasses (the manager). Finally the manager came up to me and said that someone just came and sat down at the table that we had been waiting for. He proceeded to tell me that he wasn't going to ask them to move - even when we had our name on the list and had been waiting. The other people just walked up and sat down?! Why have a sign? What a rule? He had no idea who we were, how much money we would spend, who we would bring back, he just said ..."I can find you a table inside". I said No, we waited and wanted to sit outside. I asked him if he could simply tell this couple about their sign that is clearly visible stating "FOR OUTDOOR SEATING, PLEASE SEE THE HOSTESS INSIDE". He said, "NO, I am not going to make them move" But he was willing to lose us (3) as customers?! Well, he certainly did. Inside, the place was empty which would confirm the rumors that I heard that they were closing - most likely due to poor management and customer service!

Let's just say that I went into this place with not very high expectations. Here is what I expected: I expected this place to be overpriced, under portioned. snobby service, overly trendy decor, and allegedly trendy menu items! I was not expecting a whole lot out of this place. I know I was stereotyping this place big time and I was way off base here. The place is not very large at all, but the design is perfect. The seats are close together but not too close where I felt uncomfortable. Our server was outstanding, She was very friendly, efficient, and did an excellent job taking care of us. I ordered standard bacon and eggs and they were solid. I must make mention of the cinnamon rolls. By far the best that I have had anywhere. it blows Ann Sather out of the water! The icing was slightly sweet and more buttery than usual. It was an excellent blend as the sweetness did not overpower it! This place exceeded my expectations in every way possible. I mean my expectations were not very high to begin with but I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed. The next time we are in the area, we will definitely be stopping by again,

I came here with a sandwich or salad in mind but I'm a sucker for breakfast now, thanks to my favorite boy :). I ordered the wanderer skillet (brunch potatoes with onion, tomato and bacon) topped with scrambled eggs and some yummy white cheese. My aunt ordered a veggie skillet with over hard eggs. Our order came out flip flopped and I didn't notice until I nearly bit into a mushroom, of which I am allergic. Initially I thought I had just ordered the wrong skillet because my eggs and toast were correct but after a closer look I noticed my aunt had my skillet but her eggs and I had my eggs and her skillet. Hmmm. Took less than 5 minutes to bring out my new skillet, thanks! My aunt just took the skillet I had been given because I hadn't bitten into any of it. Flavor was yummy! The potatoes were delicious but sorta just a mish mash with the rest of the ingredients. Whatever the cheese was, I'm a fan. Swiss maybe? I dunno. I think there was a Le Peep in Bloomington, where I went to college, and I remember they were known for their brunch. I likey!

The server was great. The facility was ok, a little too dark. I wanted bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. Had a hard time finding it on the menu. Cutesy names for the food. The hash browns were pretty but not crispy at all, sort of mushy/mealy. The bacon was thick, chewy and TOO SWEET! Gag. Overall an ok place to meet a friend for breakfast. As I said at the start the server was awesome and owner seems like a nice guy.

You know how your experience is going to go when the host greets you unenthusiastically without eye contact. You know how it's going to go when the host asks a server if they "want this table" right in front of you. We were seated (at a table that should have been cleaner) and greeted a bit later. Watched the host walk away and head to a table in a corner and sit down to eat/talk with someone seated there. We ordered and the food came out rather quickly. 27 years of experience in the business had me thinking to myself "I hope they didn't just microwave some made-ahead-of-time items". Sure enough... tasted and looked microwaved. My wife had the California Turkey. The sandwich was mediocre. I had the Homestead Breakfast. The biscuits were terrible. No flavor and completely microwaved. They were dry and hard. Eggs were ok. The potatoes were passable, but only because they were decently spiced. As we exited my wife turned to me and said "please don't take me to 'Le Poop' ever again". Perhaps the location in Park Ridge is better, but sadly we won't know. This location killed it for us. With so many good restaurants popping up with freshly made items and quality ingredients; places like this need to step it up and evolve. Throwing mediocre food at guests doesn't work anymore. You have to be better.

Their link sausage is very good - juicy and not too greasy with a nice mild/medium spice mix. Their blueberry pancakes are great - very fluffy with fresh blueberries inside - served with a blueberry compote. If you pair the pancakes with their lumberjack special with eggs, sausage (or bacon), and a seasoned potatoes, then you will have a large portion of a breakfast standard combo - with much above standard quality. I wish they were open later - they close around 2:30.

Good breakfast joint, even better now that they have bloody marys. fast even though it is always busy. Very amusing to watch the seniors get outraged because French toast is such a large portion, then clean their plate in 10 minutes.

I am a creature of habit. Meaning that I often find one dish that I crave, and then only ever order that . . . sigh! That is why I need to make the trek from Elmhurst to this location in Mt. Prospect, because I crave their Spinach Crepes Benedict like I crave . . . well, you can fill in the blanks. Having lived in the far northwest side of Chicago for a while, I used to go to the Park Ridge location, until one day, venturing in, I discovered that they changed their menu and took my fav dish off after at least 10 years! This location, however, is far more superb for a breakfast place; it's new, roomy, and cute. They do have other dishes as well; they have a great smoothie bar featuring questionably healthy drinks with overly cute names. So if you have a craving for spinach, even after the ecoli scare, venture to this location in the nw and enjoy!

This is a yummy place to go and enjoy for casual dining. Hubby always goes for Breakfast and I always go for lunch. He ordered some sort of mexican style skillet and I had the chicken ceasar wrap. Both extrememly good! The service was really great too. Our waitress insisted on filling our drinks even if we only had taken a sip. Fine by me!

i work for a large corporation headquartered in the nearby area and i called to ask what the manager's last name was so i could put together a proposal for my boss to hold our annual donor luncheon there as i think our donors would very much like their food and the atmosphere. THE MAN THAT PICKED UP WAS INCREDIBLY RUDE. He told me "can you call back later, thanks and hung up on me" then i called back again explaining how i was shocked at what just happened and again asked what Dave, the manager's last name was and another woman answered and she was even more rude. She said in quite a snappy tone "you don't need to know his last name you just need to know he's the manager at Le Peep and is named dave". I was so furious to be talked to like this - probably because i sound young, which I am, I am only 24 but that doesnt make me any less of a customer - and i just hung up. I am just FURIOUS How rude. better believe i will not be writing a proposal for them - i'll take my business elsewhere.
